Brand Identity Design for Small Businesses That Are Ready to Look the Part
A logo is a starting point. A brand identity is what makes your business instantly recognizable — the visual system that runs through your website, your packaging, your social media, and every piece of content you create. When it’s built well, it communicates your value before anyone reads a single word.
Edith Ave Creative designs brand identities for small businesses that are ready to stop cobbling it together and start showing up with intention. Every project starts with strategy — because a beautiful brand that doesn’t reflect the right positioning doesn’t actually do the work.
Most small businesses have a logo. Far fewer have a brand identity. The difference is consistency — and consistency is what builds recognition, trust, and the kind of presence that attracts the right clients.

Strategy Before Design. Every Time.
Before a single logo concept is sketched, we spend time on your business — your ideal client, your competitors, your brand personality, and the feeling you want your visual presence to create. That conversation is what separates a brand identity that works from one that just looks nice.
When you can articulate why every design decision was made — why that color, why that typeface, why that mark — you can evaluate the work strategically rather than just emotionally. And you walk away with a brand you understand well enough to use confidently for years.
How the Process Works
Here’s what working together on your brand identity looks like from start to finish.
Step 1 — Discovery
We start with a strategy conversation — your business, your audience, your competitive landscape, and your visual direction. This is the foundation everything else is built on.
Step 2 — Direction
I develop a visual mood board that captures the aesthetic direction before any design begins. You approve the direction, then I build.
Step 3 — Design and Revisions
You receive the full brand identity system — every element, presented together with clear rationale. Two rounds of revisions are included to get it exactly right.
Step 4 — Delivery
Final files are delivered via Google Drive, organized by format and clearly labeled. Your brand guidelines document tells you exactly how to use everything.
Brand Identity Investment
Brand identity design starts at $500. For businesses that are also investing in website design, the two services together start at $1,200 — the most cohesive and cost-effective way to build a complete visual presence from the ground up.

Brand Identity FAQs
I already have a logo. Do I still need a brand identity?
A logo is one piece of a brand identity — but without the full system around it (color palette, typography, guidelines), every design decision you make after that is a guess. If you’re inconsistent across platforms, spending time recreating elements that should already exist, or embarrassed by how your brand looks in certain contexts, a complete brand identity is the fix.
How long does brand identity design take?
Most projects are complete within three to four weeks from our discovery call to final file delivery. Timeline depends on how quickly you’re able to review and give feedback at each stage — the faster the feedback, the faster we move.
Can I bundle brand identity design with photography or website design?
Yes — and it’s the approach I’d recommend. Photography shot with your brand palette in mind integrates better. A website designed around a complete brand identity looks more cohesive. Working across services together produces a result that feels intentional all the way through. Ask about bundled pricing when you reach out.
What if I don’t love the initial design direction?
Two revision rounds are included for exactly that reason. More importantly, the discovery process at the beginning of the project is specifically designed to prevent that outcome — the more honest and specific you are during discovery, the more the initial presentation reflects what you’re actually after. If something isn’t landing, we’ll work through why and fix it.
Ready to Build a Brand Identity That Actually Works?
If you’re ready to stop patching it together and start showing up with a visual presence you’re proud to send people to — let’s talk about your project.
Building a Complete Visual Presence?
Your brand identity is only one piece of your online presence.
For the strongest results, many clients combine website design with additional creative services.
- Website Design — Showcase your products with a strategic, conversion-focused website.
- Brand Photography — Professional images that help customers connect with the people behind your business.
- Product Photography — High-quality imagery that showcases your products and supports online sales.
When every piece is designed together, your business feels more professional, more consistent, and more memorable across every customer touchpoint.
